Tips for healthy feet14th August 2017
Our feet are vital parts of our body, yet so many of us take them for granted. At Solace Foot Health and Reflexology, we want to make foot health a priority for everyone – not just those who suffer from common foot problems.
We want to tackle foot health issues before they begin. Here are our top tips for healthy feet, ideal for anyone who is looking to treat their feet to some TLC!
Wash your feet thoroughly and regularly
Take extra care when you are in the shower or bath to wash your feet thoroughly. Use warm soapy water but avoid soaking them for long periods of time as this can reduce the skins natural oils that protect the feet.
Dry your feet carefully
Once you have washed your feet in warm soapy water make sure that you dry them properly, especially in-between your toes as this is where fungal infections can start.
Moisturise your feet
After drying your feet properly moisturise with a foot cream avoiding in-between toes as again, this could cause the start of a fungal infection.
File hard skin
If you suffer from hard skin on your feet try filing the area with a pumice stone or foot file, however, be careful not to file too hard as this could damage your skin.
Wear comfortable shoes
As the average person is at work for 8-9 hours per day make sure that you make smart shoe choices whilst you’re there. If you must wear heels for work try opting for a more comfortable option for your journey to and from the office.
Change your socks daily
It is important to make sure you change your socks daily. Doing this avoids foot odour and keeps your feet fresh and healthy.
